Home Office | Organization Tips

With all happening globally, it is likely that you have been spending more and more time in your home office. We are firm believers that in order to have a clear mind, you need to have a clean and organized space. It is easier to stay organized with your work when your space is set up with easy and simple systems. We wanted to share some of our favourite home office organization tips to get you set up for success!

· Cleanup your cords. With printers, laptops, chargers, and more, a power bar can be an essential tool in your home office. Eliminate the frustration of accidently unplugging your charger and leaving you with a dead battery. or mistakenly shutting down your wifi. Our best tip here is to use labels at the base of each cord to mark what each one is attached to.

· Create a home for everything with dividers in your desk drawers. At our house, no matter how big or small, every item has a home (tossing everything in a drawer doesn’t count!). Stop by your local dollar store and get some plastic or cardboard dividers to create sections within your drawers. You will be able to see everything at first glace which saves time and avoids the unintentional creation of a dreaded junk drawer.

· Have a place for your paperwork.

You should have a place that you put your active paperwork, as well as a place to put paperwork that can be stored away for later reference. There is no need to invest $500 into a filing cabinet. Buy some nice-looking baskets (your local dollar store may surprise you with their selection) and store your files in there. The only paperwork on your desk should be in active use and stored in a paper tray of some sort.

· Make your supplies visually appealing. How motivating is it to get a new pack of highlighters or a fancy new notebook? The more visually appealing supplies are, the more likely you are to want to use them! Our favourite way to organize is to categorize and then colour code. Ordering the colours in rainbow form will do the trick!
